After a leisurely breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Old Delhi
Old Delhi - A sight-seeing tour of Old Delhi would entail visiting - Red Fort - The red sandstone walls of Lal Qila, the Red Fort, extend for two km and vary in height from 18 meters on the river side to 33 metres on the city side. Shah Jahan started construction of the massive fort in 1638 and it was completed in 1648. Jama Masjid - Jama Masjid The splendid mosque built by Muhammad Ali Shah inthe typical Mughal style with two minarets and three domes, lies to the west of the Hussainabad Imambara. Raj Ghat - the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Also, visit the Swami Narayan Temple and Bangla Sahib Gurudwara Proceed for the visit of New Delhi
New Delhi - An extensive sight-seeing tour of New Delhi would include a visit:- Humayun's Tomb - Built in the mid 16th century by Haji Begum, senior wife of Humayun, the second Mughal emperor, Humayun's Tomb is an early example of Mughal architecture built in Delhi. Lotus temple ( known as Bahai Temple), Qutub Minar - 13 km to the south of Connaught Circus at Lalkote of 8th century Tomor Rajputs, the 72.5 mts high Victory Pillar stands as a victory stand of a Muslim King Qutub-ud-din-Aibak in India. A drive along the ceremonial avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, The President's Residence, and a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave. After an early breakfast, drive to the city of Taj (Agra) Arrive Agra and transfer to hotel
In the afternoon visit the The Agra fort - situated on the banks of Yamuna River, North West of the Taj Mahal, this majestic fort was started by the Emperor Akbar and it developed as a strong hold of the Mughal Empire, under successive generations. This majestic fortress of red sandstone encompasses within its 2.5 km long endosure walls, the imperial city of the Mughal rulers. It comprises many visionarypalaces, such as the Jahangir Palace and the Khas Mahal, built by Shah Jahan, audience halls such as the Dewan I Khas and two very beautiful mosques.
Later visit the Taj Mahal - a white marble Tomb build in 1631 - 1648, seat of the Mughal Empire by Shah Jahan for his wife, Arjuman Banu Begum or Mumtaz Mahal. After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Jaipur known as "pink city" and the capital of Rajasthan named after Jai Singh, the former Maharaja of Jaipur. Enroute visit the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri, a place worth visiting to discover how once the city could have been which has now turned into ruins, situated 26 miles west of Agra, it was build at orders of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Proceed for Jaipur and the next halt is Abhaneri
Abhaneri is a small town village, situated at a distance of 95 kms before Jaipur, on Agra –Jaipur road. The place is popular for the amazing 'Baoris' (step wells) and Harshat Mata Temple. Famour Abhaneri Stepwell called Chand Baoli, belonging to the 11th century AD. This stepwells is a marvel of architecture & has beautifully carved panels inserted into the sides. The steps, in sets of 4 or 5, are in the shape of an inverted 'V'. The carved stone pillars, which are somewhat damaged now, were once strong enough for supporting pulleys to draw water. Several storeyed verandahs surround this beautiful stepwell. Also visit the Harshat Mata Goddess Temple nearby belonging to the 9th Century. Later proceed to Jaipur. On arrival check in at Hotel.
